Hello!

Jason asked me the other night when was I going to post again.

“Why?” I asked.

“Because I can’t look at that meatloaf picture anymore!”

I guess it brings back bad memories.

I made my first meatloaf. I’m not a fan of meatloaf, but the boys are, so I thought I’d give it a try…the recipe wasn’t hard and I could put it in the crock pot and have it cook all day (according to the recipe.) I followed it exactly. However, we just purchased a new crock-pot and it cooks fast. I set the timer for 6 hours, it was done in about 2.5.  How did it turn out?

Let’s just say the boys were troopers. They ate it, but no second helpings. They thought maybe next time BBQ sauce would be a good addition to keep it less….dry. 🙂

And let’s just say I need a new bottle of ketchup…ours is now empty.

Jack had been shooting his bow and arrow and needed some gloves to protect his hands a bit more, but also, wanted his finger tips out. So he found some gloves and cut off the fingertips. But, as you know, one thing lead to another and suddenly Jack had a bunch of mobsters on his hand.

If you take the hats off, each one has a great little hair do, too!

Every once in awhile Sam and I try to watch Dr. Pimple Popper. Last night, Sam sat down  and said, “I’m going to try to get to 10 minutes tonight!!”

More often then not, we get to the first pimple pop and we are done. Last night wasn’t too bad though. Nothing we hadn’t stomached already.

I actually think I spend more time watching Sam’s reactions then the procedures on TV!

1. We are ready to go! Just a little cringe showing in the mouth area. He has also grabbed tow pillows…just in case…

2. This is usually the face when Dr. Pimple Popper makes the incision on a bump. No white matter oozing out yet….

3. The ooze begins…He isn’t covering his eyes, but just uncovering his eyes. We both cover our eyes if it “drains” AKA liquid comes out of the bump before anything else…SO NASTY!!

4. The POP!!  This one was a pop with all the gunk coming out. (gag)

Happy to report that we got through an entire episode last night, but not without Ughs, WHYs and one gag…from me.

We call that a successful TV viewing night!

Good Morning!

I found Jack making himself some lunch the other day (Yay!) while listening to music and riding his hover board.

Do I say this is a talent because he is doing three things at one time? Or is this another accident waiting to happen because he is doing three things at one time?

So, I don’t say anything…I didn’t’ want to distract him…from making his own lunch.

What a week last week and glad that is wrapped up and done!

It all started when I picked Jack up from school on Monday. He immediately said, “Mom. I just don’t feel good.” He didn’t look good either.

I knew he really didn’t feel good when I went up to his room after getting home from school and he was in bed SOUND asleep! OH My!!

He didn’t get out of bed until 9:00 Tuesday morning to go to the doctor. His fever had spiked to 104+ that morning. Found out he had Influenza A.  When we got home, he went right back to bed with all his clothes on and three blankets because he was so cold.

Checked on him later and he was sweaty, so I took off blankets, sweatshirt, socks. He slept the entire time! With giving him Tylenol-Ibuprofen every three hours (on the dot and through the night) we were able to keep his fever to 100-101.

After sleeping the entire day on Tuesday and through the night, he actually got up on Wednesday. We stretched the meds to every 3.5-4 hours and kept his fever to 99.  He actually got out of bed and spent some time watching TV on the couch! He napped on and off, which he NEVER does.  He set the goal to go to school on Friday.

THEN…I got a phone call from Sam about five minutes after he left for school. “Mom. I had an accident.”  Heart drop. Thank goodness, he was fine, PHEW!!!  No one was hurt in the six cars involved.

The roads on Wednesday were terrible!! SO ICY!! Long story short, there were five cars that had hit each other in an intersection, Sam tried to stop, but due to the ice, he fish tailed, spun his car and hit one of the cars with the passenger side of his truck.  His truck is in front of the police car.

When I called the school to let them know about Sam, the gal said they had over 100 students that were going late to school due to the roads. JEEZ! There were accidents all over town. I actually saw one on my way to help Sam and two others on the way home.

I continued giving Jack meds through the day and night…Thursday morning Jack was feeling MUCH better. YEAH!!  But, now Charlie was sick. EWewEW!! She threw up and I just stood there and continued folding towels hoping maybe it would just go away. It didn’t.  Then Sam came home for lunch and said his didn’t feel the best…NOOOOOOO!!!!

Fast forward to Friday…Jack was able to go to school a half day in the morning and was in bed by 8. Wiped out!! Sam ended up with just a cold. (phew) And Charlie didn’t throw up again.

Glad to see that week behind us!

Why Hello Everyone!

Hope you are prepared for dealing with even more snow here in the Midwest! Nothing like being prepared…you never know…just in case…like Sam was for the ACT test!

Sam mentioned that he needed to get some #2 pencils that you sharpen, not mechanical. So off he went to buy some pencils.

Me: Are you taking this whole pack?
Sam: Yes. You never know what you may need.
Me: There are 40 pencils in this pack.
Sam: Yep. I want to be prepared!

So off Sam went with his pack of 40 pencils, because you just never know and it’s good to be prepared!
