Got Milk?

Good Morning!

When you open our fridge, you will see this…

Yep…the boys go through milk so fast, that I buy one if not two gallons each time I go to the grocery store.  Geez.

Addition: Sam opened up the fridge and saw all the milk.
“Ah! Look at all this chocolate milk!! This makes me so happy!!”

Spring Pictures…

Welcome Back!

Jack has two gray hoodies he wears constantly. We have to ask him NOT to wear them, take them off and wear something different! If one is dirty, he then grabs the other gray hoodie. Many times at six o’clock at night we must ask him to take off the hoodie. Many times we need to tell him, you are NOT wearing that gray hoodie today. He loves those gray hoodies. The gray hoodies love him. They are inseparable.

Jack had spring pictures and we just received them. Unfortunately, I totally spaced off picture day. So when we got them, why was a not surprised to see this…

A gray hoodie.
Zipped all the way up to cover the tee underneath.

I bought all the pictures.

Just Finished…

Welcome Back!

Just finished The Chemist by Stephanie Meyer.

If her name sounds familiar, she also wrote the Twilight series, which I read two in the series, and liked them a whole lot more than this book!

For the first three chapters I had no idea what was going on…the only thing I got was someone was coming after the main character (who is constantly changing her name) and she slept in the bathroom with a gas mask due to setting chemical traps all over her house. Finally she meets with an old employee who says he needs her help..or does he really, because she doesn’t trust anyone. I finally figured out that the main character (Alex) is a chemist that tortured people for the government. She knows a big secret (which I never figure out what) and now the government wants her killed. I read the first 200 pages in the first day…it was AMAZING!! And then the last 300 pages were horrible!!

After a great start, the love story starts and draaaaagggggssss on. Then we would have 10 pages of action and drrrraaaggggg again. Soooooo many details that it ruined the story. Then another 10 pages of semi-action and by the time we get to the big ending, we realize that this is a typical love story ending and I really wasn’t vested in any of the characters.

I would give the 528 page book 2 stars. I would give it one, but two because the first third of the book was great.

Read the Twilight series before this one.

Happy Planner…

Hello!

I am still loving my planners, especially my Happy Planner for my weekly memory keeping. Here’s a look at our Spring Break in Hollywood pictures!

I took loads of pictures and wasn’t short on choices to include for the week. I decided to choose a few favorites from each day that highlighted some of the BIG events we did.

As you can see, my planner is getting chunky which makes this planner girl happy!!

Will definitely be sharing more of this big guy in the weeks ahead!

I Love Spring

Welcome, Back!

Spring is sprung and things are blooming! The weather is getting warmer…time to plant flowers! Enjoy the outside!

This picture was taken two weeks ago with things just started to burst!

This one was taken just yesterday…what a difference!!

I’ve heard: who can’t love this time of year? it’s perfect!!

Well, in between those two pictures, Jack got a terrible cold!

He couldn’t get rid of the cough, so we ended up at Urgent Care and left with cough medicine and a z-pack.

The cough did not improve and due to all this blooming, his allergies kicked in BIG time = one miserable boy.

So we ended up back at the Pediatricians this time. He’s nasal passages were so plugged that he couldn’t blow anything out of his nose, so it was running down his throat, hence the cough. Left with Amoxicillin for his terrible sinus infection, nose spry, eye drops and two allergy meds.

So many meds on his stomach, he threw up.

(No vomit in this picture. Set up bed for Just-in-Case. He vomited in the sink. Double UGH!)

It’s been a long two weeks.
He is better, though.

I love spring.

Reading Relays

Hello!

Jack is a HUGE reader and this year participated in the district wide competition called: Reading Relays.

First, the kids create a team of four at the beginning of the school year. Then each person in the group reads books from a list of 25 books that need to be read. The groups get together and discuss who is reading which books, a goal being that each book is read by at least two members, if not more, in the group.

Long story short, there are 64 fifth grade teams in the district that are all hoping to score one of the 16 spots in the Relays. Happily, Jack’s team was one of the 16 teams in the finals!

On Reading Relays day, the groups are asked questions about the books they read (oh my, they were very specific questions!) and awarded points.

The four teams that scored the highest, went onto the finals for more questions and a winner is awareded!

Unfortunately, Jack’s group wasn’t one of the four in the finals, but they were all pretty excited to get tot he semi-finals!

Also, the overall Reading Relays winning group was from Jack’s elementary, which made them all very proud!

What a fun day for all those readers!

(Yes, this is a longer post, but I had written before my epiphany!)

Here We Go Again!

Hello!

I’ve been rethinking my blog, AGAIN!…hence the no blog posts lately, due to not wanting to spend the time writing blog post, uploading pictures, editing pictures and then I read this….

First of all, I love to read blogs and look at posts on Instagram. My “go to” social media is definitely Instagram because I can see a post, read a sentence or two and off to the next picture. When I want more information, I will hit the link and head to the subjects blog to read a more detailed account of the picture. So, when I read an article about how people do not read blog posts anymore, I understand. I even skip long Facebook posts!!

So with that in mind, in the month of May, I am going to do somewhat of a ‘backwards” experiment. Each day, I am going to post only 1-2 pictures on my blog, with a few sentences…just a quick share. I understand that a blog post is for more detailed information and I should be posting these simple ones on Instagram with links…that might be in the works for the future. But, right now, I am working on getting my blog readers up to 15 consistent readers! Including my immediate (the boys) family!

While typing this, I asked Jack if HE read the blog. NOPE. So I bookmarked the link on his desktop on his i-pad. He started to read it, even took it to the restroom with him to catch up on his life happenings.

Congrats to me…up one reader…for now.

PS: I am one that has criticized people for posting their lives on Facebook and making it seem so happy and perfect. Then I think…wow, I have a BLOG about my family! The purpose for this blog was so the boys had a record of their silly childhood stories. The purpose remains the same, but also is going to encompass the family and my crafts and reading, too.

Another thing I am going to do is to try to keep it real (I do try hard to do that at this time.) Believe me, life and life with these boys is rocky, but many of the stories are theirs to share and not for me to share. I always check with the boys before posting about them. No more exaggeration according to Jack!
