Happy Planner Wk 1

Hello, Planner Peeps!

Today I am going to share with you my “scrapbook” for 2019…The Happy Planner.  I also used a Happy Planner in 2018 to record our stories, along with a few mini-albums (an upcoming post.) I really enjoyed this project and found myself losing track of time while working on my Happy Planner!!

(Side Note: October, November and December are not completed in my planner. I created mini-books for those months this year.)

This year I am using the large (8.5 x 11) Memory Keeping Happy Planner.

DELUXE Happy Memory Keeping™ Planners - BIG - Painted Memories

I picked this size for last year too,due to the size (I did a smaller one in 2017) which gave me more room for photos and journaling. I like that the pages are not number or labeled in any manner. If I want to switch order of pages or colors of boarders for the week, being unnumbered allows me that option.

To begin scrapbooking, I print my pictures for the week at home. I can usually fit everything on an 8.5 x 11 paper or two. I cut and paste them onto a word document and print on photo paper.

Next, I place the pictures onto the weekly layout.

Then my favorite part…journaling and adding stickers or other embellishments! I love to tell the little stories!

Looking forward to completing more pages this month and sharing them with all of you!

Happy Crafting!!

Finally!!!

Welcome Back!

I finished this super soft and cute baby blanket in October. I made it for a friend’s new little guy and I was so excited to give it to them! But, I am my own worst critic and started to focus on all the mistakes and uneven borders of the blanket and started to second guess my gift. This is not the first time. Many times I have created something and then run out to BUY a gift at the last minute due to my insecurities! (UGH!!)  I shared this with the gal’s mom who told me, “Just give it to her! She won’t care!!”

So last week, I finally gave the blanket to the little guy. (I know…2 months later…I have issues.) Soon, his mom sent me this picture…I was so happy when I saw B. loving his new blanket!  Isn’t he just the cutest thing!!

It’s the first time I have given one of my blankets to someone. Like I said, I am my own worst critic! But, this big, happy, cute smile just made my day and loved that he FINALLY got his gift!! 🙂

Oh Christmas Tresssss!

Hello!

I went out to finish up some Christmas shopping, ran into some super sales and suddenly I had four new Christmas trees in my car! (Oops!)

Let me explain. The night before gals were talking about their trees and how they put one here in their house…there in their house…everywhere in their house!

It spoke to me.

So, I put one 4′ tree in our bedroom.

One 3′ little guy on the shelf outside my craft room.

And the boys each have one in their rooms as well.

Sam’s tree all decorated…

And Jack’s “pre-lit” tree…but just one side.

PS…Sam and Jason were out and Jason mentioned getting a tree for the screened-in porch. Sam looked at him and said, “Don’t you think we have enough trees!”  He is correct.

Check Up!

Hello!

Jack had his first 6 week check up since getting his braces on and I am glad to report that he is doing very well!

Check our these teeth 6 weeks ago! Gnarly!

Look at the improvement in just a short time!

The kids get to choose the color of their bands if they have done a good job brushing their teeth. Jack has kept up on his brushing (with a few reminders from his parents) and chose orange bands for this visit.

In a couple more visits, he will get his bottom braces.
Then only two years until he gets them off!

Excuse Me…

Welcome Back!

While sitting watching TV and probably doing a little crocheting, Charlie walked by and nonchalantly climbed right into the chair next to me and laid down.

What? She is NOT allowed on the furniture!

As you can see, she looked at me like, “What are you going to do about it?”

And dang it. She was right! I didn’t do anything about it. I get how important it is to be comfy and not bothered!

Hee Hee!

Hello!

I was sitting around helping Jack with homework and saw Sam’s shoes. So I decided to put one on. I was amazed at the size of his feet compared to mine, so I sent him a picture! “Check this out!”

He responded right away!
“TAKE THOSE OFF! Dear god, mom! You don’t even have socks on!”

I should have known….

Just Finished…

Hello, Fellow Readers!

If you have read Beartown by Fredrik Backman, then
Us Against You, the squeal, is a must read.

As one reviewer wrote:
Beartown was one of my favorite books of recent years so I had high hopes for the sequal. Fredrick Backman brings the people to life, as well as the entire community. The themes and angst are expertly interwoven through the story.

I couldn’t agree more. I took my time while reading this book to savor everything that was happening in the story. I thought Beartown wrapped up nicely, but the events that took place in that story, still have consequences and effects people deeply. And it is lot easier to believe a simple lie then the complicated truth.

I give this book 5 out of 5 stars.

Yes, you need to read Beartown first, but you won’t be disappointed.
